Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint
The plantar night splints are made in a variety of styles and designs. Some of the night splints are more rigid and bulky while others are softer and similar to a sock. All night splints are made to offer pain relief from plantar fasciitis by stretching the fascia while you are sleeping or resting. Night splints look similar to a boot with straps in the front instead of being fully enclosed. They offer little flexibility because they are meant to keep your foot at a 90 degree angle, which stops the fascia from contracting and helps reduce the stress in the inflamed area of the foot.
Treatment of plantar fasciitis is typically accomplished by using multiple treatments such as plantar fasciitis night splints during the night combined with day usage of shoe orthotic/inserts, anti-inflammatory medicine, icing the inflamed area and specialized heel cups. Everyone is different in their preference but night splints seem to be the most useful option for night time treatment.
Many of our customers have reviewed our night splints and have said that they greatly reduce the morning foot pain typically associated with plantar fasciitis. This is being accomplished by stretching the fascia during sleep instead of stretching it with your first steps in the morning.
Although shoe orthotics or inserts seem to be the most effective way of plantar fasciitis treatment they are only working while you are walking or active by stretching the fascia. We highly recommend day and night treatment to totally alleviate the pain from plantar fasciitis. Shoe orthotics/inserts can also help with heel spurs, pronation and achilles tendonitis.
